Unknown - The Model vs Cool for Cats/Unknown A side - 7" - white label (numbered) - late 1990's estimate.
(4)
Excellent. Not a mash up in the normal sense of the word. This is a band playing the Music of The Model very similar to Kraftwerk with the lead singer singing Cool for Cats by Squeeze in a corny German Accent. Humorous but also musically good. The A side could be described as some sort of instrumental, trip hop beats, guitar toon. I reckon this single might have been limited to 100 or something similar. I've no idea who it is. Maybe they are from around Nottingham, UK or roundabout, as that's where it was found. If anyone can shed any light I would love to know. Each single has a different drawing on the label.

All in a days werk - V/A - 12" - DEF - 1991
5 tracks, 1 cover of Autobahn by "Pro-Gress". Also features Kraftwerk samples in Eskimo's & Egypt, Gobo-Loco,Timecode,Westbam. A list of Kraftwerks albums is featured on the label. I also have "cut out review" from NME 23.2.91.

Top of the Pops Volume 45 - V/A - LP - Hallmark - 1975 (Featuring Autobahn).
One of those 1970's Top of the Pops albums you always see around. The less commonly seen Vol 45 has a well passable cover of Autobahn and being from 1975 could well be the first cover version of this classic track and indeed, Kraftwerk themselves.

Galaxy Sounds Orchestra - Synthesizer Hits Vol 1 - CD - Object Enterprises - 1991 (Featuring Autobahn & The Model).
One of those fairly dismal cheap CD's.

Coldplay - Talk: Remixes - 12" - EMI - 2006 (ps)

Damned, The/Siouxsie Sioux Radio Interview - /Hong Kong Garden - 7" - White label - 1978
This obscure white label 7" record has The Damned playing a live version of ".............." on one side.
On the other side is a BBC radio review of a gig at Victoria Halls, Hanley, Wed 25.10.78 featuring Siouxsie Sioux & The Banshees, Spizz Oil & Human League and then a interview with Siouxsie Sioux about the gig.
It starts with Trans-Europe-Express by Kraftwerk as background music as the Radio Hanley/Stoke (I presume) reporter describes the Human League (during their early synthesizer lineup) as similar to Kraftwerk but somewhat inferior. It continues for a minute as he talks about the 2 support acts before fading out as he starts to review the Banshees gig.
A slightly related Kraftwerk link I suppose but there it is! Hear it here

Brooklyn Express - Brooklyn Express - LP - RTB - 1982/83 (Made in Yugoslavia) (Features Trans Europe Express tune and lyrics on Side A tr 2)
This one is good. Track it down. More than a Kraftwerk related piece this one.

From a page by DJ PIED PIPER:
Cekic worked with DJ legend Tee Scott, run his aggressive operations using all the means necessary to get things done, legal or illegal.
He's also a pioneer of mashups. After an impressive underground career he disappeared in early 80's.
However the bizarre story of Cekic case continues in same manner. He resurfaced back in former Yugoslavia during the independence of Republic of Montenegro (being Albanian from Montenegro, a place called Gusinje in the middle of nowhere deep in Balkan mountains far away from club dancefloors of NYC) rallying other Albanians from abroad (New York Region) to vote for independence on the referendum.
That wouldn't be bizarre in any way whatsoever had Cekic not've stated he was actually a "Demolition expert from Brooklyn".
The question remains as to what was he actually demolishing, disco scene or buildings.

These are the words of Tee Scott:
Tee Scott:" Began Cekic was a real case. He was a Yugoslavian guy with this little record company - One Way was a subsidiary of his main label, B.C. Records, which he eventually changed to One Way. He was the king of the copiers. He got a hold of me, and he treated me to all kinds of baubles (laughter); he bought me two huge 1500's, or 1520 tapedecks, the model they used in the studio with a "Store" feature and the extra sections for your tone generators, which were built-in; it cost about $4000. And then he bought me the 1506, which was a 4-track recorder. These were all gifts for doing those records for him. He made a lot of money on those!
He did Love Is the Message, Sixty-Nine (Spank), Eighty-Eight, Beyond the Clouds, Relight My Fire (Let's Get Horny), Computer Games, all of those... He took me to Florida, too. Of course he did cover records, really because he didn't sample anybody else's records - it wasn`t possible then,-- he just did things that sounded close to them. And after a while, he started getting involved in stuff that I felt I should back out of. He started getting really ridiculaus and stepping
over the line with a lot of stuff. I lost touch with him after a while."
